Case Studies

At Utiliplus, we take pride in delivering personalized energy support that makes a tangible difference. From independent shops to national multi-site operations, our customers rely on us to save them money, simplify their energy, and stand in their corner when it matters most.

Below you’ll find examples of how we’ve helped businesses across a range of sectors.

Hind Care Ltd

The Client

Hind Care Ltd operates two well-regarded care homes in Urmston – Faversham House and Brookfield Nursing Home. In summer 2025, Managing Director Rachel Hind approached Utiliplus looking for a way to simplify her energy contracts and bring more clarity and value to the process.

The Challenge

Across the two care homes, there were 5 energy meters (gas and electric) spread across four different suppliers, all with misaligned contract end dates. This made it difficult to track, manage, or confidently know whether the business was getting best value — a common issue for multi-meter sites.

Our Solution

We immediately recognised an opportunity to save money, reduce admin, and bring structure to the portfolio.

We tendered all 5 meters together, creating a bespoke group deal that allowed us to:

  • Reduce costs through grouped volume pricing
  • Align contract end dates for a single, simple renewal window
  • Consolidate suppliers from four down to two

Hind Care Ltd was also assigned a dedicated Utiliplus account manager to:

  • Handle all supplier communications
  • Monitor and validate bills
  • Quickly resolve any future issues — no call centres, no waiting on hold

The Result

£9,339 per year saved across the two care homes

Suppliers reduced from four to two

Aligned contract end dates across all meters

Seamless, long-term support from a single point of contact

Anilox Laser Technology Ltd

The Client

Anilox Laser Technology (ALT) is an innovative, industry-leading manufacturer in the print and packaging sector. Founded in 2011, they specialise in cutting-edge fibre-optic laser engraving systems and sustainability-driven manufacturing. They are a UK Carbon Trust certified business, powered in part by 252 solar PV panels with a strong environmental ethos.

The Relationship

Utiliplus first began working with ALT in 2020, winning their business with competitive pricing among brokers and direct suppliers. During the sharp energy price spikes triggered by the invasion of Ukraine, we used our market insight and forecasting to time ALT’s contract renewal precisely – protecting them from the typical 100% price surge many faced. It was a valued and well-received outcome.

Since then, we’ve managed three further renewals, consistently reducing costs, and building a strong, trust-based relationship.

The Challenge

On their July 2025 renewal, ALT had two key objectives:

1. Reduce carbon footprint to support their net zero goals
2. Keep costs low, despite green energy contracts often carrying premiums.

Using intense procurement and supplier negotiations, we sought to meet both goals simultaneously.

Our Solution

We tendered both electricity meters to specific suppliers, targeting REGO-backed 100% green electricity tariffs.

The Result

100% green electricity contracts secured

Zero premium compared to standard tariffs

Annual savings of £16,806.26

350,049 kWh of electricity now carbon-free
